Alaska halibut fishing aboard the Windigo!

By popular request, we've added this handy chart to the site that will give you a very close approximation of the live weight of a halibut simply by looking up its weight. Keep a marked stick or tape on hand in the boat and you'll be able to find out the weight without having to manhandle some of the bigger fish around!

Note that a few of the increments are missing from each end of the chart, that means one of two things: first, it's not big enough to worry about unless you got a friendly wager with your fishing partner :); or secondly, it's big enough you might want to have a certified weight of the fish!
