Put down the compound bow in 1983, picked up a recurve and been shooting trad ever since. Could never get used to all the mechanical bs that modern compound bows use, and if it's not perfectly tuned your arrows are likely to go anywhere but where you want 'em.

Nothings better than starting on a new stave..wondering what you'll get when it's done. Same for arrows, although I always bought pre-dowled shafts and fletched/crested them myself.

Many, many years back I walked into Northwest Archery to pick up some cedar shafts,; Glenn St. Charles pops his head out of the back room, and calls me back there to give him a hand. We made me a Pacific Yew longbow that day, and it's a treasure I'll be passing down to my grandson. Glenn was the real deal, no doubt.
