My guess is that just about everybody else did as poorly as you did that day. Some days, whether it's because the barometric pressure is too low or too high, or it's something completely different, they just don't bite. If you can't catch a trout on a nightcrawler, it's likely one of those days.

Of course, it might have been the trout telling you to take up fly fishing for trout. Every bit as effective as worms, with none of the mess!
