Hey Monty,

Like anything else, everyone has their own method when it comes to rigging. This is how I typically set up with a float, it works great. Below the float I place an egg sinker (1/4 ounce generally, heavier if fishing exceptionally deep or swift water), a small bead, and then a barrel swivel. Below the swivel, a leader varying in length from 15-24 inches depending on water clarity and current speed. In swifter water I typically make the leader a bit shorter so as to keep the bait tracking at or near the depth of the weight. Attached to the leader is generally a 1/0 hook with an egg loop. To this I generally also attach a small piece of yarn tied in at the loop that allows me pull the yarn instead of the loop when rebaiting, nice when your hands are shaking from that bite you just missed!!! At times I will go with a glo-bug instead of the yarn. I personally feel uncomfortable using a corky or any other floating type of device at the hook while fishing with a float for fear that the bait would rise above the sinker. This could particulary become a problem in areas with little or no current. Hope this helps. Good luck.
