Hey Gutz,

I see no reason why the sand shrimp by themseleves would not work. You know where I am at we can't get our hands on sand shrimp so use primarily whole tiger shrimp (they may be a prawn for all I know). We hook them with two single hooks, one in the head, one in the tail and fish them below a float. Both steelhead and chinook take the offering. Most of our shrimp we color, bright red being the most popular. They can be hardened considerably by placing them on rock salt for a day or two before fishing. Good luck to you.
