For me it boils down to assessing level of risk. I don’t go to parties or events and I am cautious and mindful to keep space from others, particularly the elderly. I avoid crowds and shop at the end of the day with as few people around as possible. I conduct myself according to the level of risk present.

If you present me with facts from peer reviewed medical journals I would be inclined to listen with an open mind. A lot of the research isn’t there or doesn’t actually support some of the measures that are in place. Thankfully I have a lot of education in public health so I am familiar to some degree what can be a helpful measure and what is clearly a power grab or fear-mongering. If you consider that downplaying the situation then you can believe that. Perhaps I don’t fit into the two major categories of the discussed study... perhaps the group that tries to look at the situation objectively and conducts themselves accordingly.
