We have received confirmation that the Commission has received and is considering our call for a Town Hall.
DON'T LET UP
Keep sending those emails to the Commission and let them know it's time they communicate with stakeholders in a more in-depth meeting than just the three minute timed talks we are now allowed!
Here is a copy of our original message we sent to the Commission!
Commissioners,
The Department and the Commission are facing an unprecedented crisis in public trust, brought on by your continued avoidance to address the broken co-management process.
We draw your attention to this example, which is not from our campaign, rather from private citizens who have had enough.
It is only one of hundreds that are circulating within the recreational fishing community and across all the social media platforms.
The amount of negativity is surpassed only by the amount of frustration and out right anger that has been simmering for years. Emotions that are beginning to boil over.
We’ve been telling you for years, burying your head in the sand and pretending that the issues in the broken co-management process will go away is NOT WORKING!
YOU MUST REALIZE THE PUBLIC IS NOT FALLING FOR THE TRICKS ANY LONGER!
The time for avoidance, excuses and deflection are at an end. You, commissioners are being seen as part of the problem rather than a hope for a solution.
Perhaps the time has come for you to consider holding some Town Hall style meetings. Where the people can ask questions and get answers, rather than the frustration of “three minute sound bites” where all you do is nod. You owe it to the stakeholders to be transparent and honest. Right now, our opinion of you is quite the opposite.
As we told Director Susewind. What you choose to do now will forever be your legacy.
Where is the leadership?
