Add on pain and suffering, wrongful death et al. and payouts will possibly be in the tens of millions, but no more. There's a million past cases just like this that have already been settled. IMO - $3 billion is crazy talk and any judge worth their salt will have major issues with the asking amount. They'll settle down for $25 - 50 million is my guess. Pretty standard in these instances.
