Who was blaming him for anything. I can, but I wasn't. I am just saying that he was, and, for many still is, looked at as a Messiah figure.
No different than the extreme right looks at Trump. While he may have been a good president, he most certainly was not perfect.

Right off the bat, I can tell you that much of what I saw during the Mortgage crisis was pure idiotic and helped to extend the suffering.
If you want, try defending these policies that were in effect during his "crisis".
For starters, extending unemployment for years, but not (as happened this time) extending it to the self employed or gig workers, and no holding back on foreclosures or evictions. The worst I saw was forcing banks to call preforming loans and then reselling the assets in bulk, cash auctions to holding companies. Billions of capital switched hands.
I personally do not no anyone that went bankrupt or lost their home in the last 4 years. Almost every one of the people I know in my business went bankrupt and many lost everything during the Obama presidency. I and a few others made it through intact, but I lost at least 2 hundred thousand because I had to liquidate assets to stay afloat.
