"Why don't you own physical Gold/Silver?"

Except for certain industrial and commercial applications, gold and silver have no intrinsic value. They are only worth what people choose to believe they are worth, just like with currency. Perception is a very strong force in cognitive humans, and over the last couple thousand years, humans have collectively decided that precious metals are "precious." Fortunately, currency is easier to carry around in my wallet. And crazier than that, is the perception among cognitive humans that the Mastercard in my wallet equals a promise by my bank to transfer digital equivalents of currency to the bank of vendors who sell me stuff. No gold, no silver, no currency, just the cultural fiction that money equals whatever the collective "we" in this culture decide it is.
