Hatchery Chinook Rack Returns

Naselle River Hatch
To-date, a total of 12,663 adult and 487 jack Chinook salmon have volunteered into the attraction channel and recruited into the hatchery. Of these, 893 natural origin (NOR) Chinook salmon have been planted upstream above the hatchery. A total of 2,207 Chinook mortalities have been reported to-date, and there are no Chinook on-hand in the hatchery this late in the season. There have been 1,866 female Chinook spawned, and 5,598,000 Chinook eggs collected at the facility to-date. Naselle Hatchery has now met it’s Chinook goal for 2025.
To-date, a total of 14,488 adult and 555 jack coho have recruited into the hatchery. A total of 165 coho mortalities have been reported, and there are approximately 3912 fish on-hand at the facility. Naselle Hatchery has spawned 480 female coho and 1,056,000 coho eggs collected. Naselle Hatchery will continue to get coho over the next few weeks to meet the coho broodstock goal.
To-date, a total of 445 adults and no jack chum have recruited into the hatchery. There have been no chum mortalities reported, and there are no Chum on-hand at the facility. Naselle Hatchery has spawned 222 female chum and collected 555,000 chum eggs. Naselle hatchery has now met its chum broodstock goal for 2025.
Nemah River Hatchery
To-date, a total of 7,750 adult and 100 jack Chinook salmon have recruited into the hatchery. Of these, 428 NOR Chinook salmon were planted upstream above the hatchery. A total of 3,727 Chinook mortalities have been reported, and there are no Chinook on-hand in the hatchery this late in the season. There have been 1,233 female Chinook spawned, and 3,699,000 Chinook eggs collected at the facility to-date. Nemah Hatchery has now met it’s Chinook broodstock goal for 2025.
To-date, a total of 2740 adult and no jack chum have recruited into the hatchery. A total of 714 chum mortalities have been, and there are no Chum on-hand at the facility. Nemah Hatchery has spawned 1,013 female chum and collected 2,329,900 chum eggs. Nemah has now met its chum broodstock goal for 2025.
There is no coho hatchery program at Nemah Hatchery.
Forks Creek Hatchery
To-date, a total of 3,114 adult and 53 jack Chinook salmon have recruited into the facility. Of these, 471 NOR Chinook salmon were planted upstream above the hatchery. A total of 231 Chinook mortalities have been reported, and there are no Chinook on-hand in the hatchery this late in the season. Forks Creek has spawned 160 females and collected 480,000 eggs. Forks Creek Hatchery has now met it’s Chinook broodstock goal for 2025.
To-date, a total of 27,507 adult and 855 jack coho have recruited into the hatchery. A total of 145 coho mortalities have been reported, and there are approximately 685 fish on-hand at the facility. Forks Creek Hatchery has spawned 248 female coho and collected 545,600 eggs. There are still 52 females needed to meet this year’s broodstock goal for 2025 at Forks Creek Hatchery, but this facility will continue to get coho over the next several weeks.
To-date, a total of 546 adults and no jack chum have recruited into the facility. There have only been three chum mortalities reported, and there are 61 Chum on-hand at the facility. Forks Creek Hatchery has spawned 241 female chum and collected 554,300 chum eggs. Forks Creek Hatchery has now met its chum broodstock goal for 2025.
Commercial Fishery
The commercial fishery has been open in all commercial fishing areas since Sept 14, 2025, with each commercial area having a different number of days scheduled for each week. We are now in the last month of the commercial fishery, and there are only five total days scheduled spread out over the next few weeks. These remaining five days are only in area 2U. All other areas are closed through Nov 30, 2025.
There has been a total of 4,498 hatchery Chinook salmon, 42,582 coho, and 87,224 Chum landed through week 45 (Nov. 3).
The Department will continue to actively monitor the commercial fishery through the end of the month and analyze data as it comes in.
As always, in-season data is preliminary and subject to change.
