I liked in person voting. It felt good and right. Never had to show my passport or birth certificate or any ID to vote. The precinct committee men and women were friends and neighbors who pretty much knew everyone in that precinct. But I don't think it was inherently more secure than the way we vote now. I never mail my ballot. Can't trust the US Post Office that much. I always put my ballot in a Ballot Drop Box.

WA was pretty much already a blue state before the adoption of mail in voting. And Republicans supported the switch to mail in voting, as it is more convenient for the conservative residents in central and eastern WA.
