The Pacific Fishery Management Council (Council) and its advisory entities will meet March 5-9, 2001, in Portland, Oregon to address habitat management issues and management of fisheries for salmon, Pacific halibut, highly migratory species, and groundfish.

Key action items include:

Adoption of a set of options for the 2001 ocean salmon fisheries for public review.

Review of the first draft of the fishery management plan for highly migratory species such as offshore tuna, billfish, and sharks.

Adoption of proposed 2001 incidental catch regulations for Pacific halibut.
