Plunk in one of two spots: Cascade Island immediately downstrea of the dam (same place you fish for shad) or just downstream from there at what they call Hamilton Island. For the former, just go to the dam and find your way down there. For the latter, head south at the powerlines just west the dam (assuming you're on the Washington side), and then take the first left. Most guys are using spin n glos. Not monster size, but fairly big, about an inch long. Stop at the gas station/store at Bonneville; they have a fair selection. Top color now is light green. If the water is up, you need to use 6-10 ounces. If its down, you can get away with 4-6. Use a threeway swivel, with the sinker drop about a foot or 18 inches, leader about three feet. Cast it out 35-60 feet, give it a little free spool (not lots) and let it drop to the bottom. Be prepared to lose lots of lead. Some guys use scent, but you don't need it. Some guys also use cured prawns. Expect a crowd. Your rod needs to be fairly stout, especially when the water is up and you have to use more than 6 ounces. You have to release unmarked wild springers(and steelhead). I don't mind posting this because its already a mob scene down there. But they are getting fish...
