What going on is that NMFS, Oregon and Washington are freaking out about the sheer number of people on the river below Bonneville: 2000-plus boats over the weekend and 600-plus bank anglers. That's for the whole river from Bonneville down. They're going to close the river a couple days per week so the season will run through the end of the month. Hasn't been decided yet which days or how many, but they'll likely leave the weekends open. My guess is that it will be open only Thursdays through Sundays, probably beginning this week or next. What they're worried about is incidental hooking mortality on wild stock. Upstream fisheries like Wind River and Drano will not be affected.
