I'll agree with wish4fish. Took my family down I-5 straight through to Northern California border. Then we took it slow hitting city to city up the Oregon coast on 101. We stayed at the Oregon State Parks on the coast (which I may say are A1 first class compared to Washington parks) and I strategically placed our stops so I could fish the rivers on the way (it's funny how that happened laugh ). I went in October though, which is GREAT. Weather is kinda stormy, which my family and I love and isn't so crowded. Didn't do to bad fishing either. Waters were a bit low, but hit into some fish.

If all else fails, plan a trip towards Montana. Lots of scenery/National Parks with some 1st class trout fishing. I'm hoping to head up to BC with the family one of these days. Just want my kids a bit more into fishing before I head up that way. It's more fun when I can fish and not be so into showing them (which I love to do mind you, but if I'm up in BC, I want to fish!!)

Good luck, there's tons of possibilities. I'd really tell you to go with Oregon. I may do it again in October. It was great.
