riverdog and dances,

I've built two spin rods out of fly blanks. I used the St. Croix SC IV blank in the 7'6" 3 weight. I put on the smallest reel seat I could find and custom built the handle with cork rings emphasis on small. It is the best spinning rod I have ever used. A six inch trout will rip your face off. eek

The other is a 9'0" 5 weight St Croix SC III blank with a larger handle. turned out a little heavy for lake fishing, so I use it for silvers in the salt and for spin fishing in the rivers.

Both are exellent blanks. the SC IV blank are a teal green color. when you wrap them with a metallic thread trim they look awsome.
