Have you ever seen a sardine with a Chartreuse head or tail…not likely. Any oily fish strip will work! I have seen fishermen used dead smolts or suckers and they seem to get great results. Its not the name of the fish, it's the smell of fresh fish! Try using other things like scrimp or cut squid. Anchovy have more oil then sardines do, try them!
