Dogsalmon is right - there are so many good plugs for so many different water conditions, and the fish targeted. For example, the big Mag Warts are great for large chinook salmon; from places like trolling for Wind R. springers next to the Columbia to backtrolling the coastal rivers for fall 'nooks in colored water. Flame red and the silver/chartreuse combo are good colors for this. ... For river silvers (coho salmon) the standard Wart and size 35 Hot Shots are excellant lures - either trolling upstream in slower holes or backtrolling or anchorfishing the faster holes. Try the flame red w/ black tiger strip pattern and the chrome/chartreuse pattern colors. Lots of good color combos to try. It also is a very good idea to use a bead chain to extend the belly hook back a good ways on the Warts (removing the back hook) because the silvers are often quick short strikers that will drive ya nuts by getting off of marginal hookups.
