I'm in the straight mainline crowd on this one. Using the turbo masters or even a small dink or cork with 8-10# mainline all the way to your jig will do the trick in low clear conditions. It helps to have a light rod and spinning reel for this setup.

In the winter when fishing for nates with a pink worm on a jighead or something like that I've had good success with straight fireline, a dink, a 1/4 oz split or two about 3-4 feet above the jighead.
