There are several different egg cures. Borax egg cures are still effective for catching steelhead. The old timers I fish with use nothing else. The recipe is 1 cup of borax mixed with 1 level teaspoon of non-iodized salt. Sometimes they'll use a heaping teaspoon of salt if they're curing big chinook eggs. Try the other cures also. I put the nitrite/sugar or procured eggs in borax to make them less gooey and easier to handle. wink
