I have been looking into buying a pontoon boat for awhile. I have checked out many different companies and haven't really found anything that was "high qualtiy". Guess that's what we get for "made in China, Japan, etc.."

The main use of this boat is for lakes or ponds. I may occasionally drift down a river. I would prefer not to go over 9' in length and have the option of anchor/trolling motor. Money... wow, these things get expensive. Try to stay within $1000 range.

In reality it is more practical for me than a drift boat. This is beacuse I can't pack a drift boat into a high mountain lake but could easily put a pontoon boat on my pack board and go. But the real, question is asking for your opinion.

What are your thoughts?
