Hey DC, one of these days I'll get that club off teh ground. Been involved with some whitewater clubs, figured a fishing cat club would be fun.
God!!! I'm going insane. I just saw a cat frame that gave me some ideas. It's an adjustable frame. You run basic large frame with movable benches. Not a take down frame like NRS sells. I'm gonna talk with Osprey about it when I see him. I have pictures of what it looks like and how I want to alter it to suit my needs. Not sure if it'll fly, but it's pretty cool.
Hey Dogfish, no it's not a catarmaran, but close. Instead of two hard hulls that cutt the water, it's two inflatable tubes. They're similar to the small ones you see in fly shops, but SO MUCH BETTER!!!!!!!!! These boats were originally built for whitewatering. They're cargo boats that are designed to cut water. Mine's 12 years old and going strong. Doesn't look as pretty as the new boats, but holds it's own nonetheless. There are big advantages of these cats. They draft alot less water then driftboats, and will take you down rivers that are inaccesible during low water periods. Plus you sit higher in the water and can cut water better under heavy loads, thus making it a boat that you can run water that you'd be a little edgy running in a driftboat (not saying that it couldn't be done).
Well, good luck getting your frame put together.
