Crazy actually that's a good idea on small rivers or where quarters are close. Too many times I've sight casted to fish lying behind structure and gooten everything perfect except the darn corky was somewhere other than tight against hook when the gear swung in front of my target! Sometimes I'll tightly knot a piece of yarn above the corky to keep it in the right place. On big rivers in large drifts this isn't as critical.
