It's not over. I have heard rumors about fly overs from ship pilots going out to ships who claim to be able to see the fish hanging off the mouth of the Columbia. I don't know about it being a school of fish 7 miles long though. However, I do know that I have had one of my best years to date and Octobers ever down there. Best day was 37. There are so many Silvers jumping after high tide it is nuts. For example, Friday, in the 2 hours after high tide (From 10a-12p) I caught 5 silvers fishing off the N. Jetty and the limits still 4. 1 had too many fins. 2 were 15 lbs, covered in lice and the bucks are just showing a slight hook nose. Fresh herring has been the key for me, finding it requires a long drive or a Seattle contact. I saw only 1 other fisherman. Wish I was there again today.... Gotta wait 'til Monday. Great for stocking up an egg supply. No secret. Lots of room, lots of fish, go get 'em.
