I use strung schlappen feathers on my jigs and they work great year round in all water conditions for steelhead and salmon. The strung schlappen feathers that I use are 6-8" long and produce a profile that is completely different from any marabou feather tied jig.

With my schlappen feather jigs you can use scent oils and they will not bother the feathers at all. I have taken jigs that have been soaked in scent and once they are in the water, they fluff right out and work great.
