I am not a purist as well. I do have a very nice driftrod that I really enjoy, but I do like to fish speyrods. The truth of the matter, at least in my case, is that the sinktip fishes well in a small portion of the swing, which is the last one third, which is also where the takes will happen most of the time. My success rate in winter with the flyrod has been marginal, therefore I would like to learn more on how to increase the number of takes.
