As far as good plug blanks the one TH mentioned is excellent, also fiberglass blanks are excellent for plugging. You can go to Lamiglass'a website and they have some deals from time to time.Loomis will send you a blank catalog also and it will desribe the actions and list the types of blanks they carry.
