I don't buy that, I've had IMX rods in all sorts since about 1993 and have "blown" up quite a few only because I horse the hell out of fish sometimes and or set the hook so hard they just pop.. The rod I have broke the most is my IMX 1021C loaded with 20 on kwikfish or fishing 4-5 oz. of lead for kings and coming out of my chair with a full double hand hook set, second would be my 1141's in which I've broke a few of them setting the hook too hard with 12lb main and 10lb leader. I've never broke my 1025C even with the hardest hooksets or just absolutely reefing on a snag. But as far as IMX being a fragile graphite I don't buy it. I'll take a pic of some of my IMX's and put it up here in the next couple of days, most of them you can't even tell they're IMX's because of all the egg goo all over them.
