Since March is the primary spawning month for cutthroat, they're getting few and far between in the salt. Since they do spawn over a pretty loing period, there's still a chance of finding the odd fish. The numbers should start picking up again after March, but some of them might be pretty skinny for a while. The coho will still be responding best to euphausid and amphipod patterns until the candlefish start to hatch out. Popper patterns are (my best guess) taken for injured baitfish and work best when there are good numbers of candlefish available. When fishing poppers, be prepared to get lots of rises and very few hookups.
