Hey guys as far as keeping the wild fish, here it goes. I personally would prefer it to go catch and release. I even sent a letter stating that fact. But in the mean time if they want to keep a fish, it is there choice. I always try to talk them into letting them go and tell them how it would help the runs if they did so. I let them know I am in this for my livelihood and would like the fish to be here 30 years from now. Yes Bob I agree with you on the going on the wall as well, that is where I thought it was going as well. Granted Bob you are totally catch and release. That is why when I know I have fishermen that want to kill fish I take them to catch and release areas so that they cant. After that they are true beleivers. Just like I said the other day when I caught that poacher on the upper Hoh, I dont have a problem with people killing fish in the areas where you can. It just pisses me off when they kill them or use bait in the areas that are designated catch and release and no bait. I personally will not keep a wild steelhead. Everyone is a different person and everyone feels different about this and so be it. My boat ratio is 99% catch and release. Far more than most other guides in the area. That is the first native fish that I have not talked someone out of killing in the last two seasons. Yes I wish that it would have swam off just like so many others, but it didn't. It was there choice!
