Herzog's book is great, like the guys said above, lots of info and great color pics. Team that up with Herzog/Amoto's video, Steelhead Drift fishing (fairly new, from Amoto publications) and you will have 2 good visuals to get you started. The video can be bought on the internet, as well as the book I believe, from Amoto Publications. Also, pick up a subscription to Salmon Trout Steelheader magazine, this has some good tips and great reading on those days when you can't get out to fish or the rivers are blown.
