It must have been 1990 or 91 I was fishing for trout on the Mashel river. Throwing a Mepps spinner at he end of 4lb test on a U.L. rod. A fish hit it, hard, and took off down river. Reel screeming like mad as a summer was trying to end my day fishing by spooling me. Made an attempt to fight it but end up breaking it off.
The hardest fighting fish I've ever caught was this past Sept.. Casting a Buzzbomb from the beach underneath the Narrows bridge I hooked and landed a 22lb King. It made several water clearing leaps and a string of dolphin like jumps as it was ripping the 8lb line off my Sedona. I saw the bottom of my spool twice. 20 minute late she was beached. I'll never forget it.
