A month ago or so someone posted that by going to Spiderline's homepage you could get some free 12lb mono. Well I filled out the info they wanted and earlier this week I got it. It's called the SuperMono XXX and I loaded up my reel yesterday for a trip to the Skagit. The stuff is really small diameter but casted nice. But......a couple of times I got snagged and broke off above the swivel without putting too much pressure on it, got me wondering what was up. Than after putting on a new lure and making a few casts I got a hard, hard hit.....almost like instant snag but this snag immediately turned and started to run. Before I could do anything I felt the line go slack and than up came this beautiful bright Steelhead that proceeded to jump five or six times with my lure hanging out of his mouth. I bet he would have been a great fight had the Spiderline SuperMono XXX hadn't broke!!

Anyway, I quit fishing with it after that and used my backup rod the rest of the day. This morning I'm taking the Spiderline off. I guess free isn't always a good thing. Anybody tried their "free" Spiderline yet? My "free" line came at a price!
