A buddy of mine who used to run halibut charters off the Oregon coast was on his way out one morning with a boat load of fisherman when he came across a floater (body). He radioed the Coast Guard and they told him they would have a cutter there in 3-4 hours, they told him to bring the body on board and wait for them, he told them he had clients on board and he was taking them fishing, he tied a couple orange buoy's to the body, gave the coasties his long and lat and went fishing.
He found out later it was a commercial fisherman who fished alone and they concluded the rope on the stern of his boat that he used to sit on to take a dump, broke. Found the boat washed ashore a day or 2 later.
