For the Penns I would go with something smaller like the 109, 9m, or 209. The Penns are rugged and will last a lifetime. I have a 209 my dad bought probably in the early 70s that's as good as new, except that the worm and pawl were replaced at some point. My only problem with the Penns is that they are on the heavy-side for mooching. For that I use a Quantum Trophy, a low-profile anodized bait caster, but I think they’re out of production. You could also use some of the larger baitcasting reels in the salt, just rinse them real well after use.
