I always used turkey drumsticks for bait,but found a bait I like better. It's made by smelly jelly and is a crab attractant that's a paste form just like their fish scents. I used to use it with the turkey,but ran out of turkey once and just used the paste. We caught as many crabs with just the paste and no turkey,so now that's all I use. Just smear some on the bait cage and go to it.

As for depth,up here in Everett I always have the best results by setting the pots at LEAST 75' deep and sometimes up to 125'. Hope this helps.
