You ask and you shall receive

Avatars up and running! Default size is 125x125 pixels, so try to make your fishey pictures that size or they will distort!

If you have a slow connection, and avatars bog things down, you can go to "Profile" and set it so that they are NOT displayed for you ... this will speed things up if needed.

Now we can see everyone's faces ... you can upload these pix to the gallery and then call on the addy in the avatar window in your profile.

Sparkey, I made the table size a fraction smaller ... hopefully that works. I'd like to assume eveyone is running at least 800 pixels wide these days

Since there will likely be a bunch of questions on avatars and I'm headed on vacation ... I'd like to nominate Parker as the Avatar answer man while I'm away :p :p
