I spend the majority of my time fishing the Puyallup these days and with the water clearing many of my fellow fishing partners are tossing eggs, with incredible results. I'm a borax guy as are many of the guys I fish with. For some reason though, they always catch fish when the only way I can do it is with corky/yarn. I know the whole bleeding your catch and keeping your hands off the eggs thing, so what is my problem. I don't seem to have a problem catching steelhead with eggs, only silvers. Is it my leader, my hook size? I usually throw a 3 foot mad leader and just enough lead to tick bottom every now and then. My hook size preference is a 2. I typically douse my eggs with a little special mix or anise oil. Steelhead love me but the silvers hate me. Help!
