To freeze or not to freeze? That is the question...
A friend of mine is an Aleut who fishes in Alaska every summer, gave me a 24 lb hen(chinook) that had been flash frozen whole. Well, I thawed this baby out and found a huge skein of mature eggs inside. I cured them anyhow. Well they turned out great, and actually got more hits on them than my mentors eggs. My mentor, stated that since my eggs had been frozen, that they would never work.. Well, six hook-ups and one landed later, even my mentor had to acknowledge that these eggs DID work after all. What I'm getting to is , does it make a difference whether the eggs arre frozen INSIDE the fish as opposed to outside?
