John's River is probably just a trickle right now. Even at normal flow, I'm not sure what species (if any) are present. If you look at a WA gazetteer, you'll see a couple of other rivers in the area. A little scouting might just bring you a nice reward, but with the drought conditions it's hard to say. Good luck.
