Mother in law broke one it the truck door once. She felt REALLY bad, but it was a cheap rod. Cousin and car trunk lid on a fly rod many years ago. I did the unforgivable once, hung up on a rock, tried to pop it off by yanking it, and my favorite small river rod blew up. Dumb a$$ move on my part. And I broke one last year as we were fighting a big steelie in fast water; lost my balance and fell against it in the drift boat.
