I will run a jig in any river I fish. I like to fish them when there is more than 18" of visibility. I run my jigs under a Thill turbo master #3 or a dink with an inline slinky to get the float to ride right. Some times I will slide on a pink worm or a bit of bait for something different. Also, a long rod will help to get a drag free drift. I use rods from 10-12 feet, yes, even for drift fishing.
