Was at the Lewis River hatchery yesterday and had my cousin show me all the new stuff they got goin on (has worked with fisheries for 13 year). Anyhow he took me into the freezer room and showed me a 53 pound chinook caught by a worker at the hatchery on 8 lb leader 12lb main. Anyhow he also showed me a 23 pound hooknose coho that was very big and fat. It was a clipped fish and I am sure the dorsal fin weighed 2lbs alone. It was a big one. Of course both these fish were hung and frozen solid side by side. Their final count for early and late returning coho was 99,500 this year. Pretty damn good numbers. Summer steelies was at 13,300. Just a little FYI. Well take it easy. beer
