The modern Republican Party is the first party in our history in which the basic political strategy is based on deceit and manipulation. It is the first party in power to practice internal propaganda, propaganda on our own people.

Domestic propaganda has in the past been a tool of authoritarian and totalitaring governments, not of our own governments.

To say that all presidents lie is to obscure the magnitude of the threat which Rovian political practices represents to our democratic values.
