Why is it a scare tactic when liberals worry about security, but something to admire when neocons talk about it?

Why is it reasonable to worry about scissors on a plane, but not an ammonia nitrate bomb fifty times the size of the one that took down the Oklahoma Federal building floating in on a cargo ship?

Why does the White House feel the need to circumvent the courts (and the law) to listen in on phone conversations of American citizens, but doesn't seem concerned about handing the keys to the backdoor to an Arab country?

Seems to me that common sense isn't that common among the far right.
