I couldn't help but notice all the sports analogies when trying to accept the concept of women in the military. Perhaps it's best that some people don't serve their country; this ain't no game.

I'll never understand why some people have such disdain for those in uniform, male or female. The lady in the article is a nurse--aren't they an asset on the battlefield? Do you think I'll care when I have a sucking chest wound whether the medic that just low crawled to me is a man or woman? And if someone thinks women can't handle those responsibilities, they have no idea. Perhaps they need to go find out first hand what being in that environment is really all about.

It's not a matter of gender, it's a matter of being skilled in their assignment.
