As for the idea of "torture", please consult your history book and review what we (USA) did to Japan and Dresden during WW II. We incinerated tens of thousands..mostly civilians.

WAR is just that, war. It is never "civil", nor should it be. If two countries hate each other enough to give up their young men (and now women) in battle, then the "rules" don't really count.

IMO, bring ALL our boys and girls HOME, then send in the BUFF's and make that region GLASS. Then, once the ground is habitable again, start that country over with the good folks from that part of the world that want to make something of their lives.
