If we unilaterally hit the missile, then it will serve to align N.K. and China, and probably Russia, together against us...as it is, we probably don't have the ability to respond militarily to N.K. all by itself, much less anyone else that might back them.

This is just conjecture, but I can't see how China would react kindly to us attacking any country in their neck of the woods, even a country that they aren't particularly friendly with.
