steeliekatcher,

For what it's worth, I try to keep the krap to a minimum. And after 20 years I've bought my share of it. But it's taken me that long to get it down to a couple of rod holders up front for pulling plugs; I do not use a rod storage device as noting works better for me than em sticking out aft. I did install a side pulley & lock on my seat next to me so I'm not out of position when dropping or hoisting the anchor; it works very well for me. Other than that I keep two PFD's and a spare set of Helly Hansen's in the hold. I may bring a heater or small flat camp stove for the wife but buddies can fend for themselves (otherwise they get soft and want me to do all the rowin). Everything else just seemed non essential and only got in the way or never worked as well as I thought it would. In my defense I can only say: they all seemed like a good ideas at the time. Nowdays I look at my boat like my vest. Less is best.
